1.

The Concurs Internacional de Ceràmica de l’Alcora – CICA – aims the development of the artistic creativity in ceramics, offering a space of promotion to the plastic artists from around the world.

People from any country in the world will be able to participate, both individually and collectively. All participants are entitled to present a maximum of two works of art created mainly with ceramic materials, which must be original and unique. Works of an industrial nature or those who have entered in other competitions will not be admitted.

Works must not exceed 2 metres long in any of their measurements.

4.

Fill in the registration form. Deadline for submission of applications: until 30 April 2020. The application form can be downloaded at: www.museualcora.com. Entries must be sent either from this web page or by e-mail (museu@alcora.org / cica@museualcora.com). They must all include a properly completed application form, the curriculum vitae, 3 images of each work in jpg format (maximum image size: 3,5 MB) and an artist statement of not more than 150 words.

All attached documentation will become property of the Museu de Ceràmica de l’Alcora.

Among all the registered works, a Technical Commission appointed by the Council of l’Alcora will select a maximum of 45 finalist works, on the basis of criteria such as the quality and originality of presented works, its technical characteristics or its contribution to the whole exhibition. The decision of the Technical Commission will be final.
The shortlisted works will be part of an exhibition from 16 October to 23 December 2020, and will appear in the catalogue to be published on the occasion of 40 CICA 2020.

7.

From 3-5 renowned experts from the world of ceramics shall comprise the Jury. It will be presided over by Alcora mayor and will act as secretary the director of the Museu de Ceràmica de l’Alcora, both with speaking but not voting.

The awards will be subjected to the applicable withholding taxes. In order to make the payment, the award-winning ceramists resident in Spain will have to present certification of being aware of their tax obligations and with the Social Security; residents in other countries will provide a certificate of tax residence in the country concerned.
Awarded ceramists attendance will be required at the awards ceremony (16 October 2020), except if it's impossible for reasons of force majeure.

9.

1st and 2nd prizes (11,000 euros) will be charged to the General Budget of 2020. The rest of the prizes (3rd and Premi Caixa Rural) will be the responsibility of the corresponding sponsors (General F.Michavila and Caixa Rural respectively).

10.

Winning entries will remain property of the Museu de Ceràmica de l’Alcora. Winner artists will not take part in the next CICA edition.

11.

A period to pick up non-winning works will be set. It is understood that if an entry has not been collected within this deadline, the author relinquishes all rights to this work and it becomes property of the Museu de Ceràmica de l’Alcora to all intents and purposes.

12.

The author will take responsibility for the correct packaging and transport of his/her work. This same packaging will be used to return the work by courier if so requested. All transport costs prior to and following the exhibition are payable by the participant.

13.

Participation in this competition implies acceptance of its rules and conditions. Town Council of l’Alcora reserves the specific and exclusive right to rule on matters not specified in these rules and conditions and on any doubts arising from their interpretation.

14.

Participating in this contest, the authors allow the organizers to reproduce the image of the winning and selected works in any kind of media. These images will be only exhibited for the promotion of the Contest and the Museu de Ceràmica de l’Alcora, or for other activities organized or sponsored by the Town Council of l’Alcora.

15.

These rules will be published in the Official Bulletin of Castellón (https://bop.dipcas.es), on the website of the Alcora Town Hall (www.lalcora.es), on the transparency portal and on the National Subsidy Database (http://www.infosubvenciones.es)

PREMI CAIXA RURAL: € 2.800.

Sponsored by Caja Rural San José of l’Alcora, for the work chosen by popular vote after closing exhibition. Cannot be added to other awards.
